Building services company Säätölaitehuolto has served its customers since 1972. Operating in the Helsinki metropolitan area and Uusimaa, the company provides comprehensive building services, from building automation and air conditioning to ventilation and plumbing.
Säätölaitehuolto relies on Line Carrier’s business mobile plans, M2M device connections and SMS service for all its building technology communication needs. The account is managed by our partner Picte, with whom Säätölaitehuolto has worked successfully for many years.
“We are a growing and developing company, and our team currently consists of 50 people. As CEO, it is important to me to ensure that our staff have the best possible conditions to do their jobs as well as they can. Data connections are one part of that,” says Tomi Silvonen, CEO of Säätölaitehuolto.

M2M device connections keep building technology working
M2M, or machine-to-machine, connections are used to transmit data in many building technology solutions. Sensors, meters, monitoring systems and equipment management solutions continually send and receive data over mobile networks. SMS messages are used to send one-way text notifications, for example from measuring devices to mobile phones.
Reliable connections make building technology maintenance and installation work smoother and more dependable.
“We have been very pleased with Line Carrier’s connections and their performance. Good connections are important in building services: if a connection does not work and needs replacing, we have to revisit the site, which creates additional production costs. One challenge is that equipment is often installed in places such as basements, where coverage may be weaker,” Silvonen explains.

In addition to device connections and text messaging, Säätölaitehuolto’s staff use Line Carrier business mobile plans. Silvonen praises the ability to activate connections quickly and easily whenever needed.
“Activating connections is extremely simple. We have a supply of Line Carrier SIM cards, and we can activate a new connection simply by providing the SIM card number. Installing an M2M connection on site or activating a new mobile plan for an employee takes no time at all. Being able to choose between three networks is also a useful feature.”
An excellent customer experience
According to Silvonen, an excellent customer experience is one of the key reasons behind the long-standing relationship.
The customer service has been outstanding, and using the services has been made very easy.
“The customer service from Picte and Line Carrier has been outstanding, and using the services has been made very easy. We have experience with many providers, but in this relationship we have been particularly pleased with the fast service and the people behind it. They listen to our needs and take the time to understand them. Reliable mobile connections also help us deliver a service that works for our own customers,” Silvonen says.
Säätölaitehuolto wanted easy-to-use mobile connections with good coverage for its building technology needs.
The company chose Line Carrier’s business mobile plans, M2M connections and SMS service.
The result was reliable mobile connections that are quick and easy to activate. Reliable network connections ensure smooth, dependable data transmission between building technology devices without additional visits to installation sites.
